Ken TylerDirector of Athletics
Master's degree in education from The College of William and Mary Tyler had previously served as Director of Athletics at West Virginia Wesleyan College since July of 2008, overseeing the largest athletic department in the state of West Virginia. Mr Tyler served on the Division II Athletic Directors Association (ADA) Board of Directors as the WVIAC representative. He also served as the Atlantic Region Chair on the Division II National Men's Basketball Committee, the vice-chair of WVIAC athletic directors and as the chair of the WVIAC Basketball Tournament Committee. He arrived at Wesleyan after a seven-year stay at Shepherd University, where he then served as Head Men's Basketball Coach and Assistant Athletic Director. Prior to Shepherd, Tyler spent six years at Albright (PA) College, serving as the Head Men's Basketball coach and Assistant Director of Athletics. He also had one-year stints as assistant men's basketball coach at East Stroudsburg University (PA), Roanoke (VA) College and James Madison University. Ken Tyler began his career at the University of Mary Washington's in 2012. His responsibilities at the University of Mary Washington include directing the activities of the athletic department, supervising the coordination of athletic events and managing the athletic department budgets.

Philip PierceDirector of Athletic Development and Promotions
B.A., M.A., James Madison University Philip graduated from James Madison University with a degree in Sport and Recreation Management in 2009 and returned home to Fredericksburg where he became Assistant Manager at the Fredericksburg Field House indoor/outdoor artificial turf facility. In 2011, Philip returned to JMU to earn a master’s degree in Sport and Recreation Leadership. Philip arrived at UMW in July of 2013 and has overseen daily operations of the Athletic Department’s fundraising initiatives while managing the Eagle Club and Corporate Partner Program. When he isn’t recruiting new Eagle Club members Philip is charged with marketing and promoting all UMW Athletic teams, contests and special events. In 2013, Philip began serving as the new Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Advisor.
